In favour of thermal insulation, sound insulation and stability, window frame profiles are now wider than they were a few years ago. As this means that some of them slip into the thermal insulation or the seal takes up part of the profile depth, this in turn means less space for the insulating foam. Together with Fraunhofer IBP, TEROSON Bautechnik has developed a test procedure and demonstrated that the TEROSON EF 537 window sound insulation foam fully fulfils the requirements of sound insulation class 6, even with a joint depth of just 40 mm.
